Round 4........

Couple of whinges from me (Steve) before I give the brief report on last nights League 2000 Round 4
Riders have to note that if they go slow in the TT to get a better handicap on the night it doesn’t work they are only cheating themselves out of money at the end of the year. The handicaps are based on PB’s.
Please can numbers be placed on the lower back so that we can see them when judging the ever increasingly tight finishes in the RR. Hair hanging over them doesn’t help either.
We are only human and mistakes are made which are normally corrected either on the night if they are spotted or by me when checking the results the following night. If a rider is placed in a longer RR their points in the age category normally go up as the RR placing is higher.
I would also like to thank all those who have volunteered to help out on the nights, managing an average of 87 riders on the night is a mammoth task and could not happen without you. A special mention to Barbara Parker, cake provider, and Bill Millen timekeeper.
Last night saw 87 riders in muggy conditions battle out the three stages. Road race winners were 2 small laps – Elizabeth Warne, 2nd Sophie Heighton and 3rd Elliot Holt, 2 laps – 1st Connor Fielden (on his new bike) 2nd Beth Officer 3rd Alex Hancock 3 laps-1st Roshan Parker-Mian 2nd Joe Nozedar 3rd Beth Orchard, 4 laps -1st Cameron Thompson, 2nd Henry Demoliy 3rd Katie Thornton and the big race saw Jake Dobson coming from the back to win with Matthew Lynn 2nd and Ryan Abbs 3rd.
TT winner was Jake in 70.10 with Matthew 2nd and Declan Bowler 3rd Skills went to Elliot Davidson 16 secs with Jake, Toby Tanfield and Angus Brown joint 2nd in 20 secs

Rain greeted the 82 riders for the last round of the 2012 League 2000. During the skills stage and time trial the rain grew heavier and with the very dark night lead to the organisers abandoning the road stages. Therefore the results of the night are based only on the skills and TT.
Harry Tanfield was first in the skills beating brother Toby and Angus Brown into equal 2nd. Harry was also 1st in the TT with a time of 62.20 secs, Alex Hopper 2nd and Joe Gubbins 3rd. Over the 12 rounds 852 rides took place an average of 71 riders per night, and a total of 125 riders rode throughout the year.
