Welcome to a new Season, Round 1.

85 riders took part in Round 1 of this years League 2000, our 19th year. I was a young lad when we started!!
Again excellent racing throughout with 39 riders beating their PB's from last year, the greatest improvement being Grace Scott by 25 seconds. The TT winner was Robert Wallace 66.10 secs beating his PB by 5 secs and Ted Kane by 0.70 seconds Matthew Dobbing 3rd.

The skills saw Connor Eyeington 1st in 19 secs with Toby Tanfield 2nd 21 secs and Lewis Dobbing 28 secs.

The 5 road races were run off in darkness which made it very difficult for the 4 judges peering through the gloom. Toby Tanfield was a clear winner in the 5 lap affair with Tom Hill 2nd and Hugo Lutz-Atkinson in 3rd. The 4 lap event was a fairly close finish Ben Etherington beating Joel Hurt into 2nd with newcomer Samuel Rea 3rd.

The 3 laps race saw the girls coming out victorious Daisy Freer beating Isabella Montague and
Daniel Saba 3rd. Brodie Sutherland was winner of the 2 lap race beating Tim James and Aidan Metcalfe into 2nd and 3rd. And the 2 small laps again saw the rest of the riders cheering loudly as Grace Scott beat Megan Thom and Sam Lane

Round 12, Final round for 2014

The last round of the eighteenth series of The League 2000 saw 85 riders battling out for the placings.

Ryan Abbs in 26 seconds was the skills victor followed by Joe Wilson 28 secs and Toby Tanfield in 29secs. New comer Ted Kane won the TT in a time of 68.90 seconds with the biggest improvement being Connor Ali by 10 secs. Road races saw a tie in the 5 lap event between Matthew Lynn and Ryan Abbs with Robert Wallace 3rd
The 4 lap placings were 1st Joe Nozedar, 2nd Marie Lynn and 3rd Ben White. 3 lap victor was Daniel Saba with Adam Makepeace and Daisy Freer 2nd and 3rd.
Ben Scott was victorious in the two lap event Eloise Hattan coming in 2nd with Tim James 3rd and the two small laps saw a first for Megan Thom, Lucy Cooper 2nd and Abigail Wilson 3rd.

Congratulations to all the winners both during the season and overall and Many thanks to all the riders and parents who supported us especially the band of volunteers who helped make the series run.

Round 11....

Round 11 of The League 2000 saw 65 riders competing in the three stages.

The time trial fell to Robert Wallace in a time of 73.70 another PB, in equal 2nd place were Toby Tanfield and Matthew Dobbing in 73.80 with Matthew Lynn in 4th 73.90
Biggest improvement on the night was Sam White with an 11.20 second improvement.

A difficult skills course saw Joe Wilson winning in 47 seconds however the only clear round on the night being Joseph Brown finishing 2nd in a time of 48 seconds. Ryan Abbs 3rd in 50 seconds.

The 5 lap RR winner was Ryan Abbs ahead of Toby Tanfield and Robert Wallace, Joe Nozedar was victor in the 4 lap race beating Marie Lynn in a close sprint with Will Hetherington 3rd. The 3 lap event Daniel Saba was first across the line Joel Hurt coming 2nd ahead of Daisy Freer. 2 laps went to Rachel James beating brother Tim into 2nd with Josh Horton 3rd.

The small event had Lucy Cooper winning with Thomas Dunn and Jade Cooper 2nd and 3rd

150 riders have taken part this season to date doing 844 rides. This is an average of 77 riders per round.

Round 10....

58 riders on a very windy night, so windy that the cones and bottles could not be used for the skills test!!, however this did not stop the racing from being competitive .
Joe Wilson coming 1st in the skills in 13 seconds, Zac Raw just behind in 2nd with 15 seconds and Toby Tanfield, Archie Johnson, Megan Hopper and Annabelle Sefton joint 3rd 16 seconds

The time trial saw only two PB's with the struggle down the finishing straight into the headwind, Daniel Thompson the biggest improvement with 3 seconds,
Robert Wallace improved by 1 second to win the TT in 74.70, Joe Wilson 2nd in 76.90 and Peter Dawson 3rd with 77.60

The 5 lap event was a close finish with Toby Tanfield out sprinting Joe Wilson into 2nd with Peter Dawson 3rd. The start of the 4 lap event was in a torrential down pour which eased during the race, two riders sprinting for the victory with Ben White edging home ahead of Charlie Savill with Ben Etherington 3rd.

The 3 lapper went to Daniel Saba 1st with Daisy Freer 2nd coming in ahead of Isabella Montague 3rd. The 2 lap race was run off in another heavy shower which suddenly blew in. This saw victory going to Eloise Hattan ahead of Sophie Heighton and Jake Shaw. The small two laps again was a wet ride with Tim James winning ahead of sisters Phoebe (2nd) and Abigail Wilson in 3rd

Round 9......

Only 65 riders, the lowest total of the season for round 9 League 2000. It was also the best night weather wise, but this was not conducive to good times as only 12 riders did PB's with Sam Officer the biggest improvement of 20 secs.
Fastest in the TT was Matthew Dobbing 72.40 followed by Aaron Preston 74.80 and newcomer Robert Wallace in 75.70. Skills winner, on a difficult course which saw only two clear rounds, was Aaron Preston in a stunning 22 secs, 2nd Joe Wilson 30 secs and Peter Dawson 44 secs.

Road races 5 lap event went to Joe Wilson followed by Ross Turner and Henry Demoily in a very close finish. Another close finish in the 4 lap event saw Joe Nozedar beating Ben Etherington into 2nd with Ryan Hesler 3rd. The 3 lapper was a clear victory for Joel Hurt but 2nd placed Kacey Eyeington just beating Sam Officer into 3rd.
2 Laps winner was Jake Shaw clear of Ben Scott with Niamh Dunn a close 3rd. The 2 small laps saw sisters Phoebe and Abigail Wilson finishing 1st and 2nd Jade Cooper 3rd

Round 8......

Heavy rain and wind helped keep the numbers low for round 8 only 68 riders. Rain had stopped by the time racing began and despite the wind 42 riders recorded PB's, biggest improvement going to Luke Barker 31 secs. The TT was won by Aaron Preston in 69.80 secs with Adam Jarps 2nd in 71.90 and Toby Tanfield recording 73.70 in 3rd. Skills winner was Lewis Dobbing in 30 secs with Aaron Preston and Henry Demoily joint 2nd 1 second behind.

Toby was top dog in the 5 lap race sprinting it out with Joe Wilson and Sam Verrill 2nd and 3rd. 4 Lap event went to Ben White with Patrick Killcullen and Jasmine Kent following on. Victory in the 3 laps went to Alfie Cerrah, Cody Lee 2nd and Finlay Davies 3rd. The two lap event saw Jake Shaw beating Ben Stockton and Rosie Burgess into 2nd and 3rd and the small laps event Lucy Cooper was 1st with Tim James 2nd and Jade Cooper in 3rd

To date 139 different riders, 655 rides an average of 82 per night

Round 7......

Round 7 League 2000 had 82 riders on a warm night, however conditions were not favourable for PB's with only 9 beating their bests, the biggest being Faye Love 48 secsThe TT winner was Harry Beal 71.80 followed by Reece Hesler 74.30 and Matthew Lynn 74.90

Skills test went to Joe Wilson in 30 secs with Zac Raw 2nd 34 secs and joint 3rd Toby Tanfield Archie Johnson 36secs.

Toby however got his revenge in the 5 lap RR in beating Joe and Ross Turner, Ross being caught in the last 500m.
The 4 lap event went to Marie Lynn with Joe Nozedar 2nd and Nathaniel Coyle 3rd. Joel Hurt was the victor in the 3 lap event beating Daisy Freer and Cody Lee into 2nd and 3rd. the 2 lapper Daniel Thompson was 1st across the line Ben Stockton and Cody Cooper fighting for the minor placings. Tim James came from the scratch group to win the two small laps Lucy Cooper coming in 2nd and Isaac Worrall 3rd.

Round 6......

76 riders for round 6 of League 2000, weather was warm but a head wind along the back straight made it tough for the riders.
Matthew Lynn won the TT stage in a time of 72.60 secs with Joseph Gubbins 2nd in 73.90 and a tie for 3rd between Adam Jarps and Matthew Dobbing 75.80. Only 8 riders did PB's with the biggest improvement going to Luke Barkjer with an improvement of 5.6 secs.

Skills winner, on a very technical course was Joe Wilson in 37 secs with Toby Tanfield 2nd in 41 secs and Matthew Lynn 3rd with 43 secs.
The wind again made it hard in the road races the 5 lapper falling to Toby Tanfield ahead of Sam Verril and Adam Jarps. Ross Turner was victorious in the 4 lap event just pipping Lewis Dolan to the line with Robyn Jones 3rd. The 3 lap event Joel Hurt came across the line in 1st position ahead of Roshan Parker Mian 2nd with Kacey Eyeington 3rd. Beth Officer was a clear winner in the 2 lap race Cody Lee placing 2nd just ahead of Eloise Hattan and in the small laps race Sufian Parker Mian was again clear of Tim James and Luke Barker

Round 5......

79 riders for an overcast and ultimately wet round 5 League 2000. However the riders excelled in the wet conditions again causing the judges problems with their close finishes.

The 5 lap race which tonight was a 4 lap race (does that make sense?) winner was Toby Tanfield in a close finish from Joe Wilson and Samantha Verrill.
The 4 lap event which was a 4 lap event went to Lewis Dolan ahead of Harrison Lee and Ryan Hesler. 3 lap victor was Roshan Parker-Mian, Daisy Freer coming in 2nd ahead of Joel Hurt. Cody Lee was 1st in the 2 lap race Isabella Montague 2nd and Beth Officer 3rd. The two small laps went to Sufian Parker-Mian (keeping it in the family) Tim James crossed in 2nd place Ben Stockton 3rd.

Top three in the TT were Danny Field 69.1 secs, Ryan Abbs 69.9 secs , Matthew Dobbing 72.4 secs all 3 PB's out of 47 PB's on the night biggest improvement was Hollie Cerrah (26 secs) Hollie is making a habit of winning this award 3 in a row..

Skills winner was Nathan Sefton 38 secs ahead of Cousin Zac Raw 42 secs with Joe Wilson and Toby Tanfield sharing 3rd place in 44 secs.

Round 4......

The warmest evening so far for this years League 2000 attracted 78 riders the lowest entry this year. Even though some exciting racing was witnessed.

The road races saw some close finishes, the 5 lap event went to Reece Hesler with Adam Jarps and Samatha Verrill 2nd and 3rd. Harrison Lee was victorious in the 4 lap with Will Hetherington inching out Joe Nozedar for 2nd. The 3 lap event Joel Hurt crossed the line first ahead of Daisy Freer and Daniel Saba. 2 Laps Beth Officer was 1st ahead of Sophie Heighton with Cody Lee 3rd. Thomas Dunn won the small race but a close sprint for 2nd where Abigail Wilson beat sister Phoebe.

The TT saw a win for Reece Hesler whose time of 72.20 secs was a PB by 0.5. Matthew Dobbing in 2nd place 74.2 another PB Samantha Verrill 3rd with another PB. Samantha's ride was noteworthy following her big crash on Saturday. Matthew also ended up in hospital hope you are OK. The biggest improvement on the night Hollie Cerrah by 35 secs.

With the usual protagonists missing the skills winner was Nathan Sefton, covering the course in 30 secs, Patrick Kilcullen 2nd (31 secs) Zac Raw 3rd (32 secs).
