Race Reports

Only 40 riders for round 10 League 2000 on a very pleasant evening. Road Race winners were Charlie and Toby Tanfield, Robert Forrest, Elle Lidell and Finlay Davies. Time trial winner Charlie Tanfield who was amongst the 20 who did PB's. Emily Slack being the biggest improver by 21 secs. A tough skills test saw Elliot Davidson coming out on top, beating second place Charlie Tanfield by a massive 9 seconds. With two rounds remaining (Aug 29th and Sept 12th) nobody has made the group their own.

64 Riders for the 9th Round of the League 2000. Again some excellent racing on a dry warm night but the wind was still noticeable. The RR winners were Charlie Tanfield, who beat Matthew Worton by a tyre in the 5 lap race, Aidan Bowler, Joe Wilson, Elle Liddell and Findlay Davies. Normal service resumed in the TT and skills both won by Harry Tanfield. Hannah Liddell being the biggest improvement by 25.40 secs. The groups are all still open with 3 rounds remaining, with the 10 best rounds of 12 being taken into consideration.

55 Riders on an extremely windy but dry night. A strong headwind finish causing difficulties for the younger riders. Road race winners were Josh Teasdale, Declan Bowler, Katie Thornton, Joe Wilson and Hannah Liddell. TT winner was Harry Tanfield beating Bradley Naughton into 2nd place. Matthew Worton was one of only two riders who did a PB knocking 1 second off his previous best time, Bradley being the other but only by 0.5. Skills winner was Aaron Preston.

54 riders for round 7 of the League 2000 on a very warm night with very little wind. The numbers down due to holidays.
Road Race winners were Alex Hopper who came through from the scratch mark to catch the leaders on the last lap in the 5 lap race, Aaron Preston, New comers Jake Green and Isabella Montague, and Lauren Kilcullen. TT winner was Alex Hopper who knocked 4 secs off his PB along with 35 others Abigale Slack being the biggest improver by 22 secs. Skills winner was Angus Brown.


NEXT ROUND WED AUG 10th

61 riders for round 6 of The League 2000 in extremely wet conditions. Road Race winners were Josh Teasdale, Peter Dawson, Patrick Stockdale, Carys Thompson and Abigale Slack. Harry Tanfield won the difficult skills course by 5 seconds from brother Charlie with Alex Hopper third. The same result as the time trial. 10 riders doing PB's in the TT with Chantelle Tucker knocking another 41 seconds from her PB.

Next round 1st August

Don't forget the two rounds which were cancelled earlier in the year are now scheduled for WEDNESDAYS August 10th and 24th.

64 riders again for the latest round of the League 2000. Some close finishes in the handicap road races with Declan Bowler, Thomas Horden, Patrick Stockwell, Patrick Kilcullen and Olivia Barker all winning their events. Time trial winner was Alex Hopper in 65.2 secs, with Angus Brown and toby Tanfield sharing the spoils in the skills. Biggest improvement in the TT was Chantelle Tucker 41 secs.

Overall in the O16 Josh leads from Harry Tanfield, Under 16's Charlie Tanfield is 35 pts clear of Elliot Davidson. The U14 sees 15 pts separating the 1st 3, Joseph Howard, Jake Dobson and Daniel Leng. The U12's sees 25 pts separating the 1st 3 Angus Brown, Aaron Preston and Toby Tanfield. Nathan Sefton leads the U10 and Arran Brown the U8. Under 6's is a tie between Rachel Leng and Ellie Bielby.

64 riders for the latest round of The League 2000 on a warm dry night.
38 riders broke their PB's with Kacey Eyeington being the biggest improver by 14 secs. Harry Tanfield knocked another half second off the course record which now stands at 61.9 secs. Incredibly 4 riders equalled their PB's to the hundreth of a second. Charlie Tanfield, Jake Dobson, Oliver Gubbins and Roshn Parker Mian.
RR winners were Josh Teasdale, Aaron Preston, Thomas Horden, Roshan Parker Mian and Abigale Slack. TT winner was Harry Tanfield and Angus Brown 1st in the skills.

Next round July 4th

72 riders for Round 3 in very good weather, hardly any wind and warmish.

50 Personal bests in the TT were achieved with Harry Tanfield bringing the record down to 62.40. James Shields was the biggest improver on the night by 22.10 seconds. Congratulations to Harry Tanfield, Aaron Preston, Joe Wilson, Zac Johnstone and Olivia Barker in winning the road races, Harry coming 1st in the TT and sharing equal 1st with Elliot Davison in the skills.

67 riders for the League 2000 round 2. Thankfully the rain stopped as the racing started The road races were won by Chantelle Tucker, Luca Calderalo, Megan Hopper, Ben Honeysett and Matthew Worton. Harry Tanfield being 1st in both skills and TT. Biggest improvement was Finlay Davies with 25 seconds.
