Round 9...

December 26, 2016
Warm sunshine greeted the 72 riders who participated in Round 9 of this years
series.

Unfortunately two crashes on the night hope all the riders are OK.

The weather helped 26 riders to their PB's with Isabel Savill have the biggest
improvement of 31 seconds.
The race went the way of Aaron Preston in 67.80 ahead of Toby Tanfield 72.80 and
Samuel Wilkinson 73.60

The skills was a dead heat between Aaron and Toby in 30 secs 2 of the 3 riders
with clear rounds, Patrick Kilcullen was 3rd with 40 secs. Joel Hurt was the
other clear round.

A very close finish in the 5 lap race which saw Ross turner edging out Toby for
1st position, Harrison Lee a close 3rd.

The 4 lap race also finished with a bunch sprint this time Ben Etherington being
succesful, Patrick Killcullen and Daniel Saba 2nd and 3rd. 3 Laps was a Jewitt
sandwich with Sophie Jewitt finishing in front of Adam Makepeace and Josh Jewitt
3rd. 2 Laps was a clear victory for Aiden Colmer with Hayden Savill ahead of
Ryan Garbutt.

2 small laps was another victory for the girls with Holly Bunfield-Jones taking
the honours Edward Redshaw coming through from the back to take 2nd and Felix
Levell 3rd

Round 8...

December 26, 2016
A rather (very) wet night didn't deter 54 riders turning up for round 8 of this
years series. Although some did choose to go to the school proms!

The TT went the way of Samuel Wilkinson with a time of 74.9 with Samuel Rea in
2nd and Lewis Dolan 3rd. 10 riders did do a PB with Esme Tucker-McAuley taking
9.90 secs off her time.

The skills also went to Samuel in 48 secs, 13 secs faster than 2nd place Kacey
Eyeington who was a second in front of joint 3rd Joel Hurt and Daisy Freer. Some
riders pleased to see that the see-saw was not included due to the rain.

Ben Etherington was in charge of the 5 lap event with the front groups working
together well to ensure the scratch riders did not catch them, Ben Massey coming
in 2nd ahead of Daisy Freer. 4 Laps went to Matthew White a clear victor. Owen
Massey finishing 2nd ahead of Sophie Jewitt 3rd. The 3 lap race went to Josh
Jewitt beating Huw Prost to the line with Stacey Williams in 3rd. Aiden Colmer
was another clear winner in the 2 lap event Hayden Savill coming 2nd clear of
Rebecca Mayes. 2 Small laps winner was again Megan Thom, Felix Levell finishing
2nd and in 3rd William Prost. Nice to see the girls in the placings in all 5
events.

Also well done to all the riders for their fine riding in such bad conditions.

Next round July 18th

Round 7...

December 26, 2016
First of all I hope our crash victims are feeling a lot better today and looking
forward to getting out on the bikes again.

83 riders on a lovely warm evening, the time trial fell to Hugo Lutz Atkinson
who was one of the 41 riders who ndid PB's in his time of 69.9, 3 seconds clear
of Ross Turner with Samuel Wilkinson 3rd in 73.8. Biggest improvement went to
Carys Kelly who knocked a massive 63 secs. off.

Hugo was also victor in the skills event with a time of 33 secs, 6 secs ahead of
brother Max with Lewis Dolan 3rd in 40 secs.

The 2 small lap RR went the way of Megan Thom who starting at the back made her
way through the field, Carys Kelly and Holly Bunfield-Jones finishing 2nd and
3rd. The 2 lap race went to Sam Dixon with
Esme Tucker-McAuley 2nd and Isaac Worrall 3rd
Josh Jewitt was a clear winner in the 3 lap race ahead of Aiden Colmer in 2nd
with Fin Godber 3rd.

Because of the crash in the 2 lap race and the impending arrival of the
ambulance the 4 lap race and 5 lap race were run as 1 5 lap. Ross Turner coming
out as winner in a close sprint with Hugo Lutz-Atkinson. Lewis Dolan a close
3rd.

Another plea from me PLEASE when racing ride in a straight line there was one
rider weaving all across the track if this does occur again riders will be
disqualified.

Next round July 4th.

Round 6...

December 26, 2016
A damp and misty night enticed 68 riders for round 6 of this years League 2000.

No computor problems saw the event running as normal.

The TT went to Toby Tanfield 71.90 secs one second ahead of Ross Turner with
Lewis Dolan 3rd a further 7 seconds down. in knocking 14 .90 seconds of his PB
Felix Levell had the biggest improvement.

Another hard skills course (or so I thought) had Toby Tanfield again winning the
round in 37 seconds ahead of Lewis Dolan 42 secs. with Joel Hurt 3rd 49 seconds.

The 5 lap race saw a tyres width victory going again to Toby Tanfield ahead of
Ross Turner with Innes Hill a close 3rd. Toby and Ross catching the group in the
last 100m. Another close affair in the 4 lap race Cody Lee edging out Adam
Makepeace and Holden Outhwaite.
Aiden Colmer was a clear winner in the 3 lap race, Josh Jewitt placing second in
front of Fin Godber 3rd. Again a clear winner in the 2 lap event Charlie Ward
beating recently injured Rowan Bell in 2nd with Cillian Lewis 3rd.

Megan Thom was victorious in 2 small laps newcomer Holly Bunfield-Jones 2nd and
William Makepeace 3rd.

Next round Monday 20th (Next week)

Round 5...

December 26, 2016
Round 5 the night every thing seemed to go wrong, at least on the organisational
side!! The reason we had to run the road races as age groups was that the
computer developed a hitch and mucked up all the TT times and PB's. Spent 3
hours last night resorting. The bell even fell to bits during one of the races.

Racing proved to be at its best once again and the sun was shining even had me
in shorts.
Connor Eyeington with a time of 70.90 secs was fastest in the TT beating Toby
Tanfield 72.90 secs into 2nd with Ross Turner 3rd in 73.90 secs. However with
the PB problem we are not awarding the biggest TT improvement this week, but we
did have an extra race at the end.
The U6 category saw a clear win for William Prost ahead of Reuban Worral with
Felix Levell in 3rd, the U8's who did 1 big lap was another clear victory for
Daniel Thompson, Josh Jewitt coming in 2nd ahead of
Ryan Garbutt. The U10's in the 2 lap race was a tighter affair Joel Hurt just
edging out Oliver Gatenby with Daisy Freer a couple of bike lengths behind in
3rd.

3 Laps for the U12's another clear victory for Lewis Dolan, Ben Etherington
coming in 2nd ahead of Cody Lee 3rd. Lewis Dobbing was victor in the U14's 4 lap
race just clear of Harrison Lee, Samuel Rea coming in 3rd. The U16/O16 race saw
a 3 up sprint for 1st place Ross Turner edging out Toby Tanfield and Connor
Eyeington for 2nd and 3rd. Special mention to Paige McLeod and Danielle Colmer
for a stirling effort to finish 4th and 5th.

A very difficult skills course saw a tie (again) for 1st place between Connor
Eyeington and Toby Tanfield who covered the course in 34 secs with Joe Jackson
in 3rd 3 secs behind.

Next round is this Monday 13th June, however PLEASE can I reiterate again
timekeeping is a difficult job with 80+ riders at 30 second intervals so KEEP
AWAY FROM THEM DURING THE EVENT as people pestering again caused some of the
timing problems.

Round 4...

December 26, 2016
91 riders turned up for the 4th round of this years League 2000 on our warmest
evening yet, Summer must be close especially as 4 coats were left behind
(currently at my address).

34 riders broke their PB's in the TT Joseph Phillips being the largest by 24.89
secs. The top 3 placings going to Toby Tanfield, 71.7 secs, Connor Eyeington,
72.3 secs and Samuel Wilkinson, 76.6. WE also had a number of very young riders
on their first outings all in the U6 group Reuben Peter Worral, 179.4; Ethan
S-Willis, 205.9; Annie Kirton, 292.3; Carys Kelly, 321.6; and a few who have
appeared a couple of times Megan Kelly, 247.4; Elizabeth Horlock, 179.4; Isabel
Savil, 193.4; and Andrew Briggs 228.3.

The skills again proved interesting Toby Tanfield and Connor Eyeington tying for
1st place in 29 secs with Kacey Eyeington 3rd in 33 secs. all clean rounds.

The 5 lap race was a 5 person bunch gallop Innes Hill coming out on top just
ahead of Ben Massey 2nd and Ben Etherington 3rd.
Joel Hurt continuing on his winning ways, this time in the 4 lap race sprinting
clear of Matthew White and Cody Lee 2nd and 3rd respectively. The 3 lap race was
a clearer affair Josh Jewitt being the victor with Stacey Williams crossing the
line 2nd ahead of Aiden Colmer 3rd. 1st in the 2 lapper was Sam Lane Ryan
Garbutt in 2nd and William Prost 3rd. New riders were to the front in the small
lap race Reuben Peter Worral beating fellow first timer Alexander Gribbon into
2nd Ewan Whiting finishing 3rd.

To date we have had 336 different rides from 116 different riders an average of
84 per round.

Next round June 6th

Round 3...

December 26, 2016
Round 3 had 79 riders on the signing on sheet with the weather a marked contrast
from two weeks ago, it was nearly warm.

The time trial had a dead heat for 1st place between Connor Eyeington and Toby
Tanfield both recording 71.90 secs. with Samuel Wilkinson 3rd in 75.70 secs. 27
managed PBs with Ruby Van Meerbeck being the biggest improvement 30.50 faster.

The skills was again proved interesting, a couple of riders stating that they
hate the skills!! however Connor Eyeington 36 secs, Lewis Dolan 38 secs and Toby
Tanfield 41 secs were again proved as the masters
The 5 lap RR saw a fantastic finish, (full marks to the handicapper!) when Joel
Hurt just held off Ben Massey into 2nd and Toby Tanfield 3rd. Toby staring a lap
down on the first group.
Owen Massey crossed the line 1st in the 4 lap race, Daisy Freer coming in 2nd
ahead of Holden Outhwaite

In the 3 lap event Josh Jewitt was victor, with Fin Godber finishing 2nd and
Aiden Colmer 3rd.
2 Laps went to Ryan Garbutt ahead of William Prost 2nd and Isabelle Stokes 3rd
Megan Thom was a clear winner in the 2 small laps Florence Levell crossing in
2nd place with newcomer Fraser A Morrison 3rd.

One rider is missing from the list, Finlay Williams as I have no DoB or age for
him.

Finally a request from myself and the timekeepers, the times are posted in the
club house once they are all processed, it does not help when they are being
bombarded with requests for times when riders are still finishing. This can
cause riders to be missed and times to be incorrect. Monday saw this happening
nearly all the way through then we get complaints when the times are incorrect.
PLEASE LET THEM DO THEIRS JOBS WHILST THE RACE IS ON

Round 2...

December 26, 2016
Round 2 saw probably the coldest night ever in the 20 years we have been running
this event with temp around 4C and even snow. Still 78 riders were not deterred
and produced some wonderful racing. The hard conditions meant that only 1 rider
beat their PB in the TT that person being Ryan Garbutt by 6 secs. Connor
Eyeington 76.6 secs was fastest beating Ross Turner 77.8 secs and Toby Tanfield
78.8 secs into second and third.

The skills also went the way of Connor a clear round giving a time of 31 seconds
ahead of Toby 32 secs (also clear) and Lewis Dolan 34 secs. again a clear round.

Connor produced a clean sweep on the night beating Ross and Toby into 2nd and
3rd in the 5 lap event a very close finish. Joel Hurt was the victor in the 4
lap race Owen Massey coming across the line 2nd ahead of Holden Outhwaite in
3rd. The 3 lap race was a clear win for Matthew Downs beating Anna Cooke and
Josh Jewitt into 2nd and 3rd. The 2 lap race Kyle Wilson crossed 1st with
Isabelle Stokes in 2nd and William Prost 3rd. 2 Small laps saw a very exciting
finish when Andrew Briggs crossed 1st millimeters ahead of Ryan Garbutt who
started on scratch and was almost a lap down when starting Megan Thom
finishing 3rd.

May 9th is the next round then May 23rd

Welcome to the 2016 for the 20th season, Round 1.

December 26, 2016
Round 1 of this years League 2000 saw 90 riders taking part with some excellent
racing on a decent night weather wise, although a head wind finish. The main
problems being for the judges in the last two road races finishing in the dark.

The skills round saw Connor Eyeington coming out as victor in a time of 28secs
with Toby Tanfield 1 second behind and Lewis Dolan a further 2 seconds, all
clear rounds.
18 PB's in the time trial including winner Connor Eyeington71.10, Toby again 2nd
in 73.30 with Ross Turner 3rd with a pb of 74.10. Biggest improvement Ryan

Round 12 final one of 2015

December 26, 2016

A lovely warm evening with no wind attracted 69 riders for the last round of this years series. The excellent conditions led to 29 PB's Jake Parkers 10 seconds being the best. Robert Wallace was the victor in 66.20 secs with Aaron Preston's 68.10 enough for 2nd ahead of Connor Eyeington 71.40.

However Connor produced the best round in another difficult skills event his time of 27 secs was good enough to beat Aaron, 32 secs, into 2nd place with Toby Tanfield 3rd in 33 secs.

Toby came out victor in the 5 lap event beating Ross Turner into 2nd with Hugo Lutz Atkinson winning the bunch sprint for 3rd. The 4 lap winner was Innes Hill who came through from the scratch mark to beat Patrick Kilcullen into 2nd with Joel Hurt 3rd.

The 3 lapper Lauchlan Hill was clear of 2nd place Josh Horton, Izaak Super coming in 3rd. Josh Jewitt
was a couple of lengths clear in the 2 laps race ahead of Michael Mackay with Jake Parker 3rd. Megan Thom kept her winning streak going in the two small laps Thomas Dunn beating Aidan Metcalfe for 3rd.

Some facts 863 different rides an average of 72 riders per night, 146 different riders took part.
