2011 season off and running... Round 1

68 riders for the first round of this years League 2000 which has moved to its new home at the Middlesbrough Cycling Circuit. The circuit which recently opened proved to be very fast with Harry Tanfield winning the time trial in 1 min 3.20 seconds. Road race winners were Harry Tanfield, Toby Tanfield, Patrick Stockwell, Lauren Kilcullen and Oliva Barker. Harry also winning the skills

50 Riders for the final round of the 2010 League 2000. An excellent night of racing finishing with a brilliant sprint in the last race. Josh Teasdale just beating Alex Hopper. The other race winners were Toby Tanfield, Joe Wilson, Jack Davidson and Rachel Leng. The TT winner was Harry Tanfield and Skills winner Aaron Preston. Biggest TT improvement by 8 secs was Bradley Naughton.
Congratulations to the overall winners Josh Teasdale, Harry Tanfield, Charlie Tanfield, Angus Brown, Aaron Preston, James Shields and Zac Raw.
Over the series 113 riders have taken part with 795 different rides an average of 66 per night.

48 riders for the penultimate round of this years series. Unfortunately very heavy rain before the event making tricky conditions on the circuit. The nights winners were Angus Brown, Toby Tanfield, Ross Turner, Natalie Forrest and Kacey Eyeington in the road races with Harry Tanfield winning both time trial and skills sections.
Due to the tricky conditions there were no best rides in the time trial.
Commiserations to Ben Bergstrand who crashed following the TT and ended up fracturing his wrist. Best wishes Ben and get well soon.

Round 10 saw only 48 riders on a warm but overcast night. Holiday season keeping riders away. The nights winners were Josh Teasdale, Ross Turner, Joe Wilson, Patrick Stockwell and James Hurndall in the road races, Josh Teasdale in the TT and Elliot Davidson in the skills. Biggest TT improvement was Rachael Leng by 24 seconds.

62 riders rode round 9 of the League 2000, the numbers held back by the
weather. However racing was again very competitive. Harry Tanfield was
fastest in the TT with Elliot Davison winning the skills. Niamh Dunn
took the prize for the biggest improvement in the TT, 15 others broke

70 riders for round 8 which brings us to 2/3rds of the way through this years series and the groups are starting to take shape.
Josh Teasdale is still leading the over 16's from Will Brown. Andrew Howe is the leader in the under 16's with Harry Tanfield and Alex Hopper breathing down his neck. Charlie Tanfield is in charge of the U14 with Katie Howe and Matthew Worton close behind. Angus Brown has a 100% record in the under 12's. Aaron Preston leads from Matthew Clark and Toby Tanfield in U10 group.
The under 8's sees James Shields with a 100% record as has Zac Raw in the U6.

76 riders for the latest round on a very warm night. 56 riders did PB's the biggest improvement from Finlay Davies by 45 secs. Harry Tanfield also took 2.75scs off his time setting a new course record 63.17 seconds.
Road race winners were Matthew Worton, Aaron Preston, Rhys Selby, Archie Lowe and Saffron Shields. Harry winning the skills and time trial.

54 riders rode round 6 of the League 2000, the numbers held back by the weather and the clash with Croft. However racing was again very competitive. Josh Teasdale, Joe Howard, Oliver Gubbins, Archie Lowe and Nathan Sefton were the winners in the road races, Josh also was fastest in the TT with Elliot Davison winning the skills. Ellie Bielby took the prize for the biggest improvement in the TT, however only 3 others broke there PB's on the wet circuit.
Two other announcements to make. Don't forget to enter the youth races at the Riverside Stadium on June 27th entries to Steve, entry fee £6.
August 15th Middlesbrough are hosting one of the 'Sky Ride' events. It is a free ride around closed roads in Middlesbrough. The circuit is approx 7km in length. More information on www.goskyride.com all welcome.

82 riders for round 5 of The League 2000 and the groups are starting to take shape.
Josh Teasdale is leading the over 16, Harry Tanfield in the U16, Charlie Tanfield U14 and Angus Brown U12 all have maximum points, Aaron Preston leads the U10, James Sheilds the U8 with Maximum points and Zac Raw leads the U6.
This weeks winners were, Matthew Worton, Aaron Preston, Katie Thornton, Patrick Stockwell and Katie Lowe in the RR, Harry Tanfield winning both the TT and skills. Biggest improvement in the TT was Katie Lowe by a massive 85 secs.
Our crash victim George Potter has his arm strapped up, a bit sore but no breaks, it was a dislocation, and his dad says." he is off school so he`s happy. never got away from hospital till 1.30 am, should be back for the next race"

82 riders for round 4 of the League 2000 on another cold night at South Bank.
Road race winners were Jack Vernon, Patrick Stockwell, Joe Howard,Jack Nelson and William Brown. Some close finishes amongst them.
Fastest in the TT was Harry Tanfield in 66.04 secs and also in the skills.
This coming week is a <u><strong>British Cycling</strong></u> event and <u><strong>we are back on Monday 24th</strong></u>.
