League 2000 - Round Four 2018

A hot sunny night enticed 97 riders to round 4 of the League 2000

41 PB's in the time trial with the biggest improvement going to Darcy Tuer with 45.6 secs. The fastest 3 were Connor Ali 66.9 secs, Lewis Dolan 71.7 and Thomas Godber 71.8.

The difficult skills test Kacey Eyeington conquered in 37 secs with Connor Ali and Joel Hurt joint 2nd 3 secs slower.

A close run 5 lap RR saw Connor Ali crossing the line 1st ahead of Euan Sanderson 2nd and Thomas Godber 3rd.

4 laps went to Sam Dixon outsprinting Adam Makepeace and Fin Godber into 2nd and 3rd. Elliott Holt was fastest in 3 laps Fraser A Morrison coming home 2nd with Finn Owen Smith 3rd. Victor in 2 laps was Matthew Russell, Harvey Simpson a fine 2nd and Matthew Best 3rd. The small lap race Megan Williams crossed the line 1st with Chloe Smith and Felix Levell 2nd and 3rd.

League 2000 - Round Three 2018

Sunshine and plenty of it greeted the 94 riders for this years 3rd round and no wind, this lead to 50% of the riders doing PB's in the time trial with Megan Williams massive 83 sec improvement being the best. The fastest 3 riders were Connor Ali 66.80, Lewis Dolan 70.9 and Thomas Godber joint 3rd with Euan Sanderson in 71.90.

A more difficult skills course than the past 2 rounds saw Lewis Dolan finishing in 1st with 27 secs a full 6 secs ahead of joint 2nd Connor Ali and Kacey Eyeington

The 5 lap RR was a close fought sprint Oliver Gatenby beating Joel Hurt into 2nd with Daisy Freer 3rd, 4 laps saw two riders ahead battling out for the win Adam Makepeace beating Fin Godber to the line with U8 Lewis Anderson leading the charge for 2nd.
3 laps went the way of Elliott Holt with Fraser A Morrison crossing 2nd ahead of Ben Turnbull in 3rd. Newcomer Daniel Walker was victorious in the 2 lap event Harvey Simpson crossing the line in 2nd and Matthew Russell 3rd. Chloe Smith another 1st timer was top in the small laps race with Megan Williams adding to her prize money ind 2nd Luke Shipton 3rd.

League 2000 - Round Two 2018

Strong winds and freezing cold temperatures didn't deter 95 riders competing in round 2 of this year's series. The largest number for a few years.

The wind meant only 9 riders did PBs in the time trial the biggest improvement going to Luke Palmer with 26secs improvement. The fastest 3 were Connor Ali 72.8, Thomas Godber 75.9 and Lewis Dolan 76.2.

A shortened skills course, because of the wind and the fact we could not get into the cupboard where the equipment is held until late, still proved to be exciting Joel Hurt in 19 secs proving to be the master with Kacey Eyeington 2nd in 20 secs with a 4 way tie for 4th between Lewis Dolan, Ben Etherington, Daniel Thompson and Daisy Freer in 22 secs.

The 5 lap race was the closest with Euan Sanderson just getting the better of Ben Etherington in the sprint with scratchman Lewis Dolan closing fast for 3rd. 4 lap race went the way of Fin Godber ahead of 2nd place Adam Makepeace with U8 Lewis Anderson coming a brilliant 3rd. 3 laps victor was Hugh Hall Craggs Matthew Russell crossing the line in 2nd place Fraser Morrison 3rd.

2 laps went to Daniel Shipton clear of William Prust in 2nd with Finlay Williams 3rd. The most cheered race of the night is the small laps race where Louise Palmer took the plaudits ahead of Lara Marie Harland in 2nd with Felix Levell 3rd.

The prize money handed out on the night is for the biggest PB and for the 1st 3 in the 5 road races. Another note is that 3 riders were spotted warming up between the races in the Private Hospital car park whilst we are not able to stop this any complaint which comes our way will be forwarded to the riders parents.

League 2000 - Round One 2018

This years Round 1 had 92 riders entering which led to some fraught times for the officials with the computer playing up and judging the races in the dark. So hopefully everything is correct but please check the age groups/clubs as it is easy to change now.

The 5 lap race was a clear victory for Lewis Dolan with scratch man Connor Eyeington coming in 2nd ahead of, in a close sprint Euan Sanderson. 4 laps judging was slightly difficult as numbers were not clearly showing. Isabel Mayes winning the sprint ahead of Owen Massey and Adam Makepeace. 3 Laps was a clear call with Fin Godber beating Finlay Smith into 2nd withFraser Morrison 3rd.

Matthew Russell was victor in 3 laps Sam Lane crossing the line 2nd ahead of Hugh Hall-Craggs. 2 small laps was a victory for Megan Williams ahead of Finlay Williams and Thomas Wells.

Connor Eyeington was fastest in the TT recording a time of 65 secs nearly 4 secs off his old time. Connor Ali was 2nd in 68 secs with Lewis Dolan 3rd in 70 secs. 42 returnees did PB's but the biggest improvement went to Reubon Squires with 76 secs beating on his new recumbent

Connor was also fastest in the skills with a time of 23 secs beating sister Kacey by 2 secs with Patrick Kilcullen 3rd a further 2 secs behind.

League 2000 final round of 2017

62 riders brought this years League 2000 to an end with some superb racing on a
night which threatened rain but ended up still and calm but dark.

The skills course was unusual with an out and back course which made it longer
than usual and more chances to make mistakes. This didn't deter Connor Eyeington
and Lewis Dolan, both with clean rounds in a time of 51 secs, Kacey Eyeington 2
secs further back in 3rd.

Connor won the TT in a PB of 65.9 Lewis coming in 2nd 6 secs in arrears with
Euan Sanderson 3rd a further 1 second behind. 34 riders did PB's with Pippa
Rowan's 33 sec improvement being the best.

The 5 lap RR was a close fought affair with the front group just getting caught
in the final sprint , however Oliver Gatenby won the sprint closely followed by
Patrick Killcullen 2nd and Daisy Freer 3rd. 4 laps
was another tight finish Stephen Bailes edging out Kacey Eyeington into 2nd with
Finlay Davies 3rd. Alex Marr was victorious in the 3 lap race Sam Dixon crossing
the line 2nd with Lewis Maynard 3rd.

Sam Lane was the winner in the 2 lap race with Matthew Best following in 2nd
place with Emily Tuer 3rd. The small lap race was a victory for Felix Levell who
was clear of 2nd place Elizabeth Horlock and 3rd place Luke Shipton. Prize money
will be handed out at the presentation on October 6th.

The Prize Presentation will be at Nunthorpe Academy Friday October 6th starting
7pm.

Some facts and figures about the 21st series.
153 different riders took part. 921 rides an average of 77 riders per night.
Biggest turn out April 25th, June 12th and 19th all with 87 riders, lowest Aug
21st 62 riders.
Biggest age group U10's with 48 riders.
8 ever presents

Big personal thanks to all those who helped out during the year from signing on
to picking bottles up to timekeeping to judging. You do make life so much easier
and to all those riders who I hope enjoyed the series.

League 2000 Round 11

The penultimate round of this years League 2000 had the poorest turn out with a
lot of riders on holiday. So only 66 riders rode on the warm evening.
The skills test was described by one or two competitors as horrible but this did
not deter Lewis Dolan flying around in 35 seconds 10 clear of the joint 2nd
riders Ben White and Joel Hurt

Lewis was also fastest in the TT with his time of 73.80 and clear 4 sec margin
from Harrison Lee 77.90 with Ben Etherington 3rd in 81.50. In total there were
19 PB's with Thomas Wells 11.7 secs margin being the biggest.

The 5 lap RR saw some good handicapping as all the groups came together on the
last lap for a bunch finish. Ben Etherington winning the gallop ahead of Oliver
Gatenby and Joel Hurt. The 4 lap event was a clear victory for Stephen Bailes
with Patrick Killcullen 2nd just coming in ahead of Harry Watts in 3rd. Front
markers Matthew Russell and Edward Redshaw made the most of their handicap
finishing 1st and 2nd ahead of Finlay Smith who finished 3rd in the 3 lap race.

Another clear victory in the two lap race, this time for Daniel Shipton as he
beat Matthew Best into 2nd with Harvey Simpson 3rd. The small lap race saw Ella
Harcourt crossing the line 1st with Isabel Savil coming in 2nd ahead of Felix
Levell

August 21st is the last round of this years series so please can those who have
not returned the trophies bring them along.
Remember it is the best 10 rides that qualify for the overall

League 2000 Round 10

August 8, 2017
Round 10 of the League had 77 entrants who were met with dry sunny conditions
but a tough headwind on the finishing straight.

The RR's again had some spirited racing which saw Harrison Lee coming from
scratch to take a clear victory with fellow scratch man Lewis Dolan 2nd and Ben
Etherington 3rd. Another clear victory in the 4 lap event for Adam Makepeace
ahead of newcomer Brandon Balos with Stephen Bailes coming in 3rd. Sean Dolan
going 1 better than his brother in winning the 3 lap event clear of Joshua Tuer
in 2nd with Hayden Savill 3rd. Closest finish of the night was in the 2 lap
event with Daniel Shipton pipping Harvey Simpson to the line William Makepeace
crossing 3rd. 2 small laps race saw a victorious Louisa Phillips
beating Isabel Savil into 2nd with Ella Harcourt 3rd.

The TT saw Samuel Rea knocking 2 secs off his PB to record a time of 74.8 to
beat Harrison Lee 75.7 with Lewis Dolan 3rd in 75.8. There were 16 pb's on the
night with Rueben Squires 15.8 secs improvement being the biggest. Two girls at
the head of the skills test Kacey Eyeington's 36 secs well clear of Sophie
Jewitt in 2nd with 42 secs and Harrison Lee 3rd a further second behind.

Next round this coming Monday and don't forget we need the trophies back.

League 2000 Round 9

August 8, 2017
The warmest round of the year (27c according to the car) greeted the 74 entrants
for Round 9 League 2000
10 riders did PB's with Sam Dixons 12 sec beating being the biggest. Connor
Eyeington romped to victory in 68.9 Euan Sanderson coming 2nd with 74.9 and
equal 3rd Lewis Dolan and Harrison Lee 77.9

A difficult skills course went to Joel Hurt 39 secs beating equal 2nd Lewis
Dolan and Kacey Eyeington by 3secs.
The 5 lap RR victory went to scratch man Connor beating Harrison Lee into 2nd
with Lewis Dolan 3rd in the final sprint. Another sprint in the 4 lap saw Josh
Jewitt crossing 1st ahead of Patrick Killcullen in 2nd with Harry Watts 3rd. The
3 lap race was a clear cut affair with Stacey Williams winning ahead of Ethan
Johnson and 3rd placed Aiden Colmer. Victorious in the two lap race was Hayden
Savill a couple of bike lengths ahead of Rebecca Mayes 2nd and Charlie Ward 3rd.


Not to be out done by her bigger brother Isabel Savil was the winner in the
small lap race Tom Wilson coming in 2nd with Elizabeth Horlock 3rd.

Three rounds left can the trophy winners from last season please look to
returning them at the remaining rounds. Thanks and see you all in 2 weeks.

League 2000 Round 8

85 riders faced the timekeepers and officials for round 8 of this years League
2000. Dry and bright put with a bit of a breeze was the weather for the nights
racing which saw 16 PB's in the TT with Rebecca Mayes 16 second improvement
being the best. Fastest rider was Harrison Lee with a time of 76.60 secs closely
followed by the smallest margin by Euan Sanderson 76.70 and Lewis Dolan 76.80

Patrick Killcullen was the rider who mastered this weeks skills course with his
time of 42 secs beating Daniel Thompson 43 secs and Lewis Dolan 44 secs into 2nd
and 3rd.

Lewis came out on top in the 5 lap RR coming through from the scratch mark to
take victory in a tight sprint ahead of his fellow scratch men Harrison Lee 2nd
and Euan Sanderson 3rd. The 4 ap race went to Owen Massey, Adam Makepeace
crossing the line 2nd with Stephen Bailes 3rd. A close sprint for the 3 lap race
saw Lucas Ware edging out Aiden Colmer with Fin Godber a bike length behind in
3rd.

A clear winner in the 2 lap race was Sam Dixon finishing ahead of Edward Redshaw
ind 2nd with Rebecca Mayes 3rd. 3 newcomers were at the head of the field in
the small laps race Billy McLeod being victorious ahead of Elliott Holt with
Ethan Westcott 3rd.

League 2000 Round 7

August 8, 2017
Another warm but calm night greeted the 87 riders for Round 7 of the League
2000. The fact that there was no wind enabled a harder skills test to be set.
The top 3 on the night were Lewis Dolan in 40 secs, Harrison Lee, 46 secs and
Connor Eyeington 50 secs. However the warm conditions were not conducive to fast
times with only 16 PB's. Annie Kirtons 36 sec. improvement being the best, Dad
is going to have to do some extra training to keep up. The fastest were Connor
69.7 secs, Lewis 75.5 secs and Euan Sanderson 76.8 secs.

Harrison Lee outsprinted Connor to win the 5 lap race with Euan a close 3rd. The
4 lap event saw Aiden Colmer off the front mark never getting caught as he beat
Adam Makepeace into 2nd and Holly Dixon 3rd. A storming finish from Fin Godber
saw him crossing the line 1st in the 3 lap race Rebecca Mayes coming in 2nd and
Ben Turnbull 3rd.
Newcomer Zed Handley from South Shields was winner in the 2 lap event well clear
of Finlay Smith and Edward Redshaw who finished 2nd and 3rd. Another 1st timer
Martin Best was victor in the 2 small laps with Isabel Savil finishing 2nd ahead
of Tom Wilson
