League 2000 Rd 12 - Final one of this season.
A wet night for the 74 riders in the last round of this year’s League 2000 our 22nd.
However it did not deter the excellent racing with 20 personal bests in the time trial including Ben Green’s 48 second improvement. Connor Ali’s 71.8 being the fastest on the night ahead of Euan Sanderson 72.8 and Thomas Godber 78.6.
The skills course which for the final night was an out and back with riders having to do the majority of obstacles in both directions, was a victory for Kacey Eyeington in 35 secs. Ahead of Daniel Thompson 37 secs. and Daisy Freer 39 secs.
3 of the 5 road races ended in bunch sprints which proved difficult for the judges especially in the wet conditions and failing light. The most difficult being the 5 lap which saw victory going to Oliver Gatenby ahead of George Walker and unable to separate them in joint 3rd Daniel Thompson and Stephen Bailes. 4 laps fell to Tom Brennan in another tight finish from Stacey Williams 2nd and 3rd placed Lewis Anderson. The final bunch sprint was the 3 lap which saw Lewis Maynard crossing the line 1st with Jake Davidson 2nd and Hannah Wells 3rd.
Charlotte Harper was a clear winner of the 2 lap event with Ethan S-Willis crossing in 2nd place ahead of Florence Levell 3rd. The small laps victor was Claudia Davies who was clear of Naomi Green with Luke Shipton 3rd.
